April was a pretty quiet month. The hayfever and rain did not help. I only have one disappointing festival to talk about.
四月はとても静かな月でした。花粉症と雨は有益じゃなかったです。残念な祭りについてしか話しません。
Akabane Baka Festival
The Akabane “Fool” Festival consists mostly of a parade route with various processions throughout the day. The most famous is the fool parade, where groups dress in “crazy” costumes and do “crazy” dances.
赤羽ばか祭りには、ほとんどいろいろなパレードとパレード道ばかりでした。グループが奇妙なコスプレを着ていて変わった踊りをするバカパレードが一番有名です。
My hopes of an interesting photo opportunity rose briefly at the beginning when they set up a dozen large, taiko drums. But the drummers were soon drowned out by the PA system playing a single loop of a J-pop song for 45 minutes. Then the dancers began, clad in dollar-store wigs and oversized sunglasses, performing routines that would be perfectly safe at an office party sponsored by HR. I will admit that I was in a grumpy mood that day, but I found the parade thoroughly disappointing.
初めて十二面の太鼓を準備をする時、面白い撮影のチャンスの期待がちょっと上がりました。でも四十五分にJ-POPの歌のループを放送する拡声装置は太鼓の音をかき消しました。次に百均のカツラと大きすぎるサングラスをしている派遣された踊り手が、事務所のパーティーで安全な踊りを始めました。じつはこの日は気分が悪かったけれど、パレードにもがっかりしました。
