This month’s biggest event was the summer Wonder Festival. But I still have some garden and temple photos for those who like their culture with less pop.
今月の一番大きいイベントは夏のワンダーフェスティバルでした。でも、ポップ文化より伝統文化のほうが好きな人には、まだ庭園とお寺の写真があります。
Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens
Created in the Edo era in the heart of Tokyo, this garden features beautifully designed greenery surrounded by skyscrapers.
江戸時代に作られたこの庭園には、周囲のそびえ立つ高層ビルとデザインされたきれいな緑の景色があります。
Yushima Seido
Dedicated to the teachings of Confucius, this temple sits on the ground while the rest of the neighborhood has been raised on a second concrete level. I often stop at this train station but never really noticed the sunken buildings.
孔子の教えを祀るこの聖堂は、周囲の街並みがコンクリートでかさ上げされているのに対して、低い位置にあります。この駅でよく止まっても、周囲より低い建物に気がつきませんでした。
Wonder Festival Summer 2026
The world’s greatest toy store once again displayed the best, and most expensive, action figures. My favorites this year were a set of kimono-clad anime characters that went for more than $1000 each.
世界最大級のフィギュア・玩具の祭典では、また一番良くて、一番高いフィギュアの出展がありました。今年の一番好きなフィギュアは、着物を着ている1体十万円以上のアニメのキャラです。

I caught the last show of this year’s tour and had a much better vantage point than last time. Of course, the music was as excellent as always.
今年のツアーの最後の公演を見に行きました。前回より席がずっと良かったです。もちろん音楽はいつも通り素晴らしかったです。
