February 2026 – Wonder Festival Winter 2026 and Temples

This month, Wonder Festival provided lots of amazing figures. I also toured a couple of nearby temples.

今月は、ワンダーフェスティバルに素敵なフィギュアがたくさんありました。近いお寺にも行きました。

Wonder Festival

As usual, I enjoyed checking out thousands of hand-made or short run plastic models and figures. The snowy weather prevented many cosplayers from attending, so that portion of the show still lags behind its glorious past. And I slipped and fell walking back to the train station, bruising only my ego.

いつも通り限定生産と手作りプラモデルとフィギュアを楽しみました。雪のせいでコスプレイヤーがあまり来なかったから、過去の華やかさには見劣りします。そして駅に戻る時、恥ずかしくも滑って転びました。

Myoho-ji

During some unseasonably wonderful weather, I took a long walk to a few nearby temples. The first, Myoho-ji, was surprisingly large with several beautiful buildings and a large garden. After shooting, I hung out and listened to some Buddhist chanting and sunshine.

季節外れのような晴れの中、近くのいくつかのお寺に長い散歩へ出かけました。妙法寺という初めのはすごく大きくて、素晴らしい建物と広い庭があります。撮影後、読経を聞いて日差しを楽しんで時間をつぶしました。

Shinseiji Temple

Shinseiji is a very nice temple with a number of interesting statues. I have visited so many temples in Japan that I often get “temple deja-vu” where I could swear that I have been to a temple before, but can find no record of it in my photos or blog.

眞盛寺は面白い像がたくさんあっていいお寺です。日本でたくさんのお寺を訪ねたから「お寺デジャブ」という、以前に来たことがあると確信するけれど写真の中やブログに記録を見つけられない状態がよくあります。
