2015 continued to be a year of change for me in October as I quit my job of three months and prepared to start a new on in November. In addition to that story, I have a couple of photos for you.
2015年は変更の年続いています。10月に三ヶ月の仕事を退いて11月に新しい仕事を始めるの準備をしました。そして写真が二つあります。
Goodbye SecureState, Hello TravelCenters of America
I knew I was in trouble at SecureState early on. The problem was, my technical writing job was neither technical nor did it involve much writing. Instead, it was just a lot of editing and proofreading, with some occasional marketing work. I was bored to tears and had to find a new opportunity.
SecureStateの問題は早く始めました。問題はテクニカルライティングの仕事はテクニカルじゃなくてライティングもじゃありませんでした。代わりに編集と校正しかしませんでした。すごくつまらないで新しい仕事を探さなくちゃいけませんでした。
Luckily, a new opportunity appeared with a technical writing job at TravelCenters of America. They are the owner of all those “TA” rest stops along the highways in the U.S. It is a much bigger company and the job seemed like it will be a better fit for me. I began the job on November 2, so you will have to wait until next month for details.
TravelCenters of Americaに新しいテクニカルライティグの仕事を見つけるのが幸運でした。アメリカの高速道路のとなり「TA」と言う休憩所の会社です。TAのほうが大きい会社でTAのほうが私に合うそうでした。11月二日にはじめたから来月に経緯を待ってください。
This new job is located farther away from my Mom’s house than my previous job, and the commute involves Cleveland’s busiest highways. That meant it was time to begin looking for a new home on the west side of Cleveland. On Halloween, my Mom and I spent an exhausting day apartment hunting in Westlake and the surrounding area. The first four places we looked at were terrible. Two of the buildings were obviously run down from the outside, such that we did not bother going in. We were despondent and resigned to returning for more hunting during the next weekend when the last apartment complex proved to be exactly what I was looking for. A short commute, a garage, and fairly modern construction with a nice price made it very attractive.
新しい仕事のほうがお母さんの家に遠いでクリーブランドの道路の中にいちばん大変な混雑があります。それからクリーブランドの西側にアパートを探し始めました。ハロウィーンにお母さんとWestlakeと言う町のところで探しました。はじめの四つのアパートはだめでした。悲しくて疲れていたけど最後のアパートは完ぺきでした。
仕事に通うのが短くてガーレジがあって現代建築で値段がいいです。
The only problem was that they had very few vacancies and they filled quickly. On the ride home, we decided I should apply as soon as possible even though I had not started the new job yet.
問題が一つでした。空間があまりありませんでした。新しい仕事をまだはじめないなのにもうすぐ申し込むことをしました。
I applied for the apartment on November 1, so you will have to wait until next month for details on that as well.
十一月一日に申し込んだから来月に経緯を待ってください。
I Built a Puzzle
When I lived in Japan, I often bought jigsaw puzzles as gifts for my Mom. There was an unfinished Tokyo Tower puzzle lying around so, since I had not tried my hand at puzzle for a long time, I gave it a shot.
日本に住んでいる時ジグソーパズルのプレゼントをお母さんによく買いました。完成されない東京タワーのがありました。久しぶりにパズルしなかたらから頑張りました。
