This month the rainy season gave way to some awful, steamy, humid days that left me wanting to do nothing other that lay under my air conditioner. I managed to get out of my apartment enough to attend Wonder Festival and to play some games.
今月、 梅雨が終わって天気が蒸し暑くなりました。 エアコンの下にずっと寝ころがっていたかったです。 なんとかアパートを出てWonder Festivalに参加してボードゲームをしてきました。
Wonder Festival Summer, 2019
Typically held in February, Wonder Festival is a spectacular figure and toy show that, for some reason, also has an excellent cosplay segment. For the first time, they held a second show in one year, at the end of this month. A typhoon the night before the show threatened to cancel it. Instead, it pushed the humidity up to 70% and temperatures broke 30 degrees Celsius. Inside the giant convention center, the air conditioning and shade kept it bearable, but I could not stand to be outside in the sun for more than a few minutes.
たいてい2月にWonder Festivalという素晴らしいフィギュアとおもちゃイベントが開かれます。 今月末に初めて年間2回目のイベントが開かれました。 一日前の台風でキャンセルになるのではと脅かされました。 実施されましたが代わりに湿気を70％に押し上げ気温が30度以上になりました。 大きいコンベンションセンターの中ではエアコンと陰があり耐えられました。しかし、 外に五分以上いるのはがまんできませんでした。
This means I got fewer pictures than normal, especially of cosplayers. But I will share what I managed to take.

I’m not a fan of waiting in lines, like the one pictured below, which contained more than 50 people waiting to take photos of 4 new action figures. So as you look at the rest of my photos, remember that these were the scenes that couldn’t attract a line.

Brad’s Game Caravan
In Okusawa, I taught several games from my collection: ”Ra,” “Through the Desert,” and “Bohnanza.” I learned the popular “Sushi Go,” which was not terrible, the Jurassic Park simulator “Dinosaur Island,” which was not terrible, and Oink’s Games’ “Flotsam Fight,” which I expected to be terrible but was not.
奥沢で私のコレクションのゲーム「”Ra,” “Through the Desert,” and “Bohnanza”」を教えました。人気がある「Sushi Go」とジュラシックパークのシミュレーターの「Dinosaur Island」とOink Gameの「Flotsam Fight」を習いました。予想よりよかったです。
At work I had the opportunity to teach some new board gamers “Settlers of Catan.” While I have played this game too many times to be surprised by it anymore, seeing this classic work its magic on new players was very enjoyable.
