March 2024 – Asakusa and Inokashira

March’s inclement weather kept photo opportunities to a minimum. On two of the rare clear days, I visited Sensoji Temple and Inokashira Zoo.

三月は天気が悪かったので撮影のチャンスがあまりありませんでした。二つの珍しい晴れの日に浅草寺と井の頭自然文化園を訪ねました。

Sensoji Temple

I stopped by the popular tourist location to practice using two of my prime lenses. Japan’s record-breaking level of foreign visitors was very apparent as I dodged hundreds of other photographers.

二つの新しい単焦点レンズを使うために人気がある観光スポットに泊まりました。何百人もの他のカメラマンを避けなくちゃいけなくて、日本の記録的な外国人観光客増加は明らかでした。

Inokashira Zoo

I found myself in Kichijouji with my longest-running language exchange partner looking for something to do. I remembered some advice given to me by a former co-worker to visit the small Inokashira Zoo. The animals-in-cages-style zoo did not provide many photo ops, but it was a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

一番長く言語交換している相手と吉祥寺に行って面白い事を探しました。井の頭自然文化園を訪ねたほうがいいと言う前の同僚のお勧めを思い出しました。檻の中に動物がいる形式の動物園で、いい写真があまり撮れなかったけれど午後を過ごすのには楽しかったです。
