NEET
In Japan they have a phrase for people like me, “NEET,” which stands for “Not in Education, Employment, or Training.” (1) Others might call me a “sponge,” a “leech,” or “a single guy who couldn’t cut it abroad.” Whatever the term, I spent the entire month of April searching for a job and spending as little money as possible. That means I do not have much to blog about this month. In order to reward you for clicking through to this entry, there is a special bonus at the end.

Clifford Weier’s Celebration of Life
The traditional American funeral is a sad affair, with everyone dressed in black and the deceased body on display before burial. My father hated this kind of funeral as did my whole family, so we held a “Celebration of Life” on April 2 rather than a funeral. Instead of my father’s body, we displayed many photos of him from his whole life. We used his iPod to play all the music that he loved. Finally we had an open bar, pizza, and lots of desserts. We tried to create the best goodbye party we could.
アメリカの伝統の葬儀は悲しいことです。参加者は黒い服を着て死んだかたちを埋葬前に展示されています。お父さんと家族はそのような葬儀がきらいでした。 だから四月二日に葬儀代わりに生涯を記念する祝典をしました。死んだかたち代わりに終身の写真を展示しました。大好きな音楽を再生の為にお父さんのアイポッドを使いました。ついにピザとかデザートとか食べてお酒を飲みました。できるだけいいパーティーを頑張りました。
Many family members joined us. Family friends came as well as ex-coworkers. It was great to see so many people who knew and loved my Dad.
家族がたくさんさんかしました。前同僚と友達もきました。お父さんを知て愛する人を見ることがよかったです。
Sphere and Block-Thing
