The first Bradblog was a private blog I maintained during my years in Japan. Version 2.0 is a public blog which will be easier to read and easier to write. It will not have as many photos nor will it have videos. It is simply a way to keep everyone updated on me without using SNS sites, which I do not like very much.<\/p>\n

I began January still in Japan, frantically trying to finish preparing for my move back home. For those unaware that I returned to America, the short story is that while I loved living in Japan, I did not love working in Japan.<\/p>\n

The move home was busy, difficult, and sad but I managed it. The flight home was really long because I had a layover in Shanghai. I arrived at my parents’ home in Cleveland, Ohio very tired.<\/p>\n

I spent the second two weeks of January recovering from the move, hanging out with my family, and looking for a job. I enjoyed my Mom’s cooking, lying on the couch, and exploring several hundred cable channels on a big screen TV. My father’s health was not good, but had improved since December, when I had to make an emergency trip home for a weekend. He was tired much of the time but he also had good times when he seemed like his old self. My mother was doing a good job of taking care of him and preparing for her own retirement… someday.<\/p>\n

Although I came to dislike my job in Japan, I really did not enjoy having no job at all. I updated my resume<\/a> and my accounts on all the major job search sites, but did not receive any good leads in January. As of this writing I am not sure yet where I will work.
