Clifford Weier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>March 2015<\/p>\n<h2>R.I.P. Clifford Weier<\/h2>\n<p>My father died on March 22 at our home surrounded by family and friends. For the last three months, my mother and I took care of him the best we could, but his health continued to fail. In January he could walk, in February he was wheelchair-bound, and in March he was confined to his bed mostly. In the last week his cancer moved into his bones and he was in pain all of the time. The last few days were excruciating and he yelled as loud as his congested lungs would allow. My mom has begun the long process of healing and getting used to living alone. I took some walks around my neighborhood this week and took my camera along in case I felt inspired. My hometown is really nothing but block after block of boring houses. At least this guy had a giant gorilla head in his front yard. (I am told that it houses a most of my comic book collection. When I was young I collected certain comics hoping that they would be worth a lot of money in the future. I was a terrible speculator and I owned little of any value. I took the collection to a local comic store and they offered me $100. Adjusted for inflation, that is probably the same price I paid for them originally.
