I spent pretty much the entire month of November packing and moving heavy boxes around. I had a short Thanksgiving vacation at the end of the month when I saw my apartment. There are a few photos of it to share before I mess it all up.<\/p>\n

To Keep or Not to Keep, That Is the Question<\/h2>\n

I have a lot of stuff. But here’s the thing, when I moved from Chicago to Japan in 2007, I got rid of a massive amount of stuff. I sold 100’s of books, dozens of games, and tons of toys and decorations.<\/p>\n

\u79c1\u306e\u7269\u304c\u305f\u304f\u3055\u3093\u3042\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002\u3067\u30822007\u5e74\u306b\u30b7\u30ab\u30b4\u304b\u3089\u65e5\u672c\u3078\u5f15\u3063\u8d8a\u3059\u6642\u79c1\u306e\u7269\u304c\u305f\u304f\u3055\u3093\u6368\u3066\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u672c\u3068\u304b\u30b2\u30fc\u30e0\u3068\u304b\u304a\u3082\u3061\u3083\u3068\u304b\u58f2\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n

And, still, I have to much stuff! How could I possibly still have this many books? Even after narrowing my DVD collection to only those that I watch repeatedly, I still have too many DVDs. And do not even get me started on CDs. What am I, 80?<\/p>\n

Thus, for most of November, I packed up all this stuff and moved most of the boxes into the living room. I am trying to reduce the amount of time I will have to pay for the movers. I wonder if I will unpack it all before I end up moving again?<\/p>\n

Thanksgiving<\/h2>\n

At the end of November I had four days off for Thanksgiving. My Mom and I took a trip to view the actual apartment I would be renting in December. Before now, we had only seen the model apartment. The actual apartment was just as nice as the model, the kitchen and bathroom having been recently refurbished.<\/p>\n

The living\/dining room is easily big enough to hold my boxes. I have a nice view of a couple of trees. Also, my garage is directly across the parking lot from my apartment, which is really convenient.<\/p>\n

The bedroom is not huge, but it is sufficient to hold my bed and clothes.<\/p>\n

We also took a bit of a tour of the surrounding city and found it very convenient. Grocery stores, banks, restaurants, and two giant shopping malls are all within a 15-minute drive. But perhaps the most life-changing aspect is that my daily work commute will be reduced from two hours to sixteen minutes.<\/p>\n
