2015 continued to be a year of change for me in October as I quit my job of three months and prepared to start a new on in November. In addition to that story, I have a couple of photos for you.<\/p>\n

Goodbye SecureState, Hello TravelCenters of America<\/h2>\n

I knew I was in trouble at SecureState early on. The problem was, my technical writing job was neither technical nor did it involve much writing. Instead, it was just a lot of editing and proofreading, with some occasional marketing work. I was bored to tears and had to find a new opportunity.<\/p>\n

SecureState\u306e\u554f\u984c\u306f\u65e9\u304f\u59cb\u3081\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u554f\u984c\u306f\u30c6\u30af\u30cb\u30ab\u30eb\u30e9\u30a4\u30c6\u30a3\u30f3\u30b0\u306e\u4ed5\u4e8b\u306f\u30c6\u30af\u30cb\u30ab\u30eb\u3058\u3083\u306a\u304f\u3066\u30e9\u30a4\u30c6\u30a3\u30f3\u30b0\u3082\u3058\u3083\u3042\u308a\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002\u4ee3\u308f\u308a\u306b\u7de8\u96c6\u3068\u6821\u6b63\u3057\u304b\u3057\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002\u3059\u3054\u304f\u3064\u307e\u3089\u306a\u3044\u3067\u65b0\u3057\u3044\u4ed5\u4e8b\u3092\u63a2\u3055\u306a\u304f\u3061\u3083\u3044\u3051\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n

Luckily, a new opportunity appeared with a technical writing job at TravelCenters of America. They are the owner of all those “TA” rest stops along the highways in the U.S. It is a much bigger company and the job seemed like it will be a better fit for me. I began the job on November 2, so you will have to wait until next month for details.<\/p>\n

This new job is located farther away from my Mom’s house than my previous job, and the commute involves Cleveland’s busiest highways. That meant it was time to begin looking for a new home on the west side of Cleveland. On Halloween, my Mom and I spent an exhausting day apartment hunting in Westlake and the surrounding area. The first four places we looked at were terrible. Two of the buildings were obviously run down from the outside, such that we did not bother going in. We were despondent and resigned to returning for more hunting during the next weekend when the last apartment complex proved to be exactly what I was looking for. A short commute, a garage, and fairly modern construction with a nice price made it very attractive.<\/p>\n

The only problem was that they had very few vacancies and they filled quickly. On the ride home, we decided I should apply as soon as possible even though I had not started the new job yet.<\/p>\n

I Built a Puzzle<\/h2>\n

When I lived in Japan, I often bought jigsaw puzzles as gifts for my Mom. There was an unfinished Tokyo Tower puzzle lying around so, since I had not tried my hand at puzzle for a long time, I gave it a shot.<\/p>\n
